Hoosac School was founded in Hoosick, New York in 1889. For over 133 years Hoosac has been enrolling boarders and day students in Forms II-VI (Grades 8-12) and our postgraduate program. As a coeducational, college preparatory school, Hoosac celebrates each student’s individuality in all aspects of their educational life.
Our school is one of the best small co-educational preparatory boarding schools located in the capital region of New York. We currently have a total of 227 students from 39 different countries and over 15 U.S. states. The school has over 75 courses and an incredible 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Hoosac School, which is rich with tradition, builds a strong sense of community through small class sizes, on and off campus activities, and our annual Boar’s Head & Yule Log Pageant. Hoosac School has a long history of educating young minds to prepare them for the next stage of their academic careers.
